Congressional
Research Service (CRS) (Gopher description)
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) works exclusively
and directly for the Members and committees of Congress
in support of their legislative, oversight, and representative
functions. It provides research, analysis, and information
services that are required to be timely, objective, nonpartisan,
and confidential.
CRS is renowned for its non-partisanship and
in-depth analysis, but it does
not make its reports available to the public. However, it cannot prevent
members of Congress from giving them out individually and some government
agencies from posting reports they find relevant. Perhaps 1000 have become
available on the web. This site provides "one-stop shopping" to find
them: http://2act.org/p/576.html
